Type locality: “locality uncertain, but probably Guanajuato”.

Diagnosis 
CommentSynonymy: This species was variously considered as a species or as a synonym of T. cyrtopsis or eques

Distribution: spotty distribution in Mexico. See map 20 in Rossman 1996: 233. Erroneously not listed for Oaxaca by MATA-SILVA et al. 2015.

Sympatry: Rossman (1992, ASIH meeting abstract, cited in Rossman et al. 1996: 234) demonstrated that pulchrilatus occurs either sympatrically or parapatrically with T. c. cyrtopsis in Durango and Tamaulipas, and with T. c. collaris in Jalisco, Nayarit, Oaxaca, and Queretaro (in addition to Guanajuato and Michoacan), without intergrading with either subspecies of T. cyrtopsis, consequently, he raised T. pulchrilatus to species status. 
EtymologyPresumably named after Latin “pulcher” = beautiful and Latin “-latus” = bearing or carrying, most likely referring to the contrasting striped pattern.
