Diagnosis 
CommentColor plate 63 in VILLA et al. 1988.

Type species: Dromicus putnami JAN 1863: 67 is the type species of the genus Manolepis COPE 1885.

Diet: lizards 
EtymologyNamed after Frederic Ward Putnam (1839-1915), an anthropologist and naturalist. He went to Harvard (1856) and studied under Louis Agassiz.
