Type locality: Cherrapunji, Khasi Hills, Assam.

Diagnosis 
CommentThe original description did not have a type locality, but WALL 1909 found additional specimens from Khasi Hills, henceforth assumed to be the type locality.

Similar species: Amphiesma modestum.
