Diagnosis 
CommentLalremsanga et al. 2022 found Gongylosoma scriptum to nest within Liopeltis. However, they consider the generic position of G. scriptum as still unresolved due to the unavailability of genetic data from either the type speci­men, topotypical specimens, or congeneric specimens.
