TypesHolotype: FMNH 5698; adult female; Collectted by: M. P. Anderson. Date of Collection: May 19, 1914. Other specimens: AMNH 117734 and MUSM 31152 (fide Trevine et al. 2022) 
DiagnosisDiagnosis: “It is a Tachymenis closely related to peruviana, but differing in having a few more solid maxillary teeth (12 as opposed to a maximum of 10 in peruviana), a few more caudals (55 as opposed to a maximum of 50 in females of peruviana) which causes the ratio of tail length to total length to be higher, absence of scale pits, and a very light dorsal ground color with practically no trace of a pattern.” (Walker 1945: 21)
