Type locality: Buenos Aires, Argentina  
ReproductionViviparous. clutch size: 4-16 embryos; there is no relationship with the female’s body size. Egg-laying takes place from January to April (Rebelato et al. 2016).

Diagnosis 
CommentSynonymy: Tachymenis hypoconia and Thamnodynastes strigatus have been synonymized by BOULENGER 1886.

Similar species: T. almae and T. nattereri.
